This is a replication of that classic sauce you get at a large fast food hamburger joint. The recipe is different to others around as it includes items I could easily find in Australia. As everything is pretty much processed / dried / preserved it lasts a good while in the fridge in a jar or similar.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup whole egg mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sweet mustard pickles
- 1 tbsp dried white onion
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 4 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 3 tsp vegetable oil
- 0.25 tsp paprika
- 0.25 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- pinch of salt & pepper
DIRECTIONS
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well.
- Place sauce in a covered container and refrigerate for several
hours, or overnight, so that the flavours blend.
ALTERNATIVE – BASIC
- 2.5 tbsp whole egg mayo
- 1.0 tbsp tomato sauce
- 0.5 tbsp french’s yellow mustard
(Serves 2 burgers, 1 tablespoon on the top bun and a second tablespoon on the bottom bun = flavour town)
