Ingredients

  • 1/3 Cup of Neutral Oil
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Bay Leave
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli flakes

Directions

  • Heat the oil, start anise, cinnamon and bay leaves in a small sauce pan over a medium heat.
  • Once the oil starts to bubble slowly turn the heat down to low making sure the oil does not get too hot, you will burn the spices. Keep the oil temperature under 300f
  • Leave for 5-10 mins
  • Meanwhile add the chilli flakes to a small dish.
  • Strain the hot oil over the chilli flakes and allow to cool.
  • Store in the fridge, it should keep for up to 6 months
