This is a replication of that classic sauce you get at a large fast food hamburger joint. The recipe is different to others around as it includes items I could easily find in Australia. As everything is pretty much processed / dried / preserved it lasts a good while in the fridge in a jar or similar.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup whole egg mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sweet mustard pickles
  • 1 tbsp dried white onion
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 3 tsp vegetable oil
  • 0.25 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • pinch of salt & pepper
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well.
  2. Place sauce in a covered container and refrigerate for several
hours, or overnight, so that the flavours blend.

ALTERNATIVE – BASIC

  • 2.5 tbsp whole egg mayo
  • 1.0 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp french’s yellow mustard

(Serves 2 burgers, 1 tablespoon on the top bun and a second tablespoon on the bottom bun = flavour town)
